Pre Installation Check List
Whether your system is installed by our team or your own licensed installer, please review the basic requirements below prior to installation.
1. Connections to mains water
The system must be connected to a standard mains hot and cold potable water supply to ensure safe operation and optimal performance. Inlet pressure must not exceed 350 kPa, and the supplied pressure limiting valve/dual check must be used. All connections should be completed by a licensed plumber in accordance with Australian standards.
2. Suitable power supply
A standard 240V AC, 50 Hz, 10A double GPO must be installed within 1 metre of the unit location. During operation, the chiller draws up to 0.7A, while the boiler may draw up to 6A during heating cycles, with combined usage reaching up to 7A briefly. The system must be connected directly to a double 10A outlet — power boards, extension leads, or shared outlets are not permitted as they may cause overload. For models without a boiler, the lower electrical load allows the unit to share a standard outlet if required.

3. Space requirements
Adequate space and ventilation is required to ensure safe operation and optimal performance. For the chiller unit, allow a minimum of 50mm clearance on both sides, 100mm at the rear, and 100mm above. The boiler requires a minimum of 100mm clearance on all sides. Ensure sufficient space below the filter for easy replacement. If these clearances cannot be met, a ventilation grill will be installed at no charge by a Velo Water technician to ensure adequate airflow throughout the cabinet.
4. Tap Hole Requirement
Velo taps are designed to fit most standard sink openings and will typically replace your existing tap without modification. For new installations, a 35mm hole is required.
